- these rooms have NICU beds for babies who are usually within a week or two of going home, but still require observation and monitoring

- there is a bed beside each baby which the parent (usually a breast feeding mother) can use so that parent and baby can stay together 24/7

- both mothers and fathers can stay in private rooms while semi-private rooms are generally for 2 mothers and their babies, semi-private rooms have a shared bathroom

- there is a small kitchen area and family lounge; parents provide for their own meals

- there is no cost to these rooms
